Ideas: Photography Spots

I have found some awesome areas in SLC and Utah County that I think would make great spots for engagements or bridals/groomals.

The first one is called Garden Park Ward. It is in SLC and is free! Here is a link to a bride and groom who got their groomals taken there. I love the different walls, the grass, the bridge...I just think it'd be a great spot to get some great pictures!

The next place is the Provo Mental State hospital. I know, sounds weird...but there is an amphitheater in the back, with a pond area...and its amazing the "castle" feel that it gives to the pictures.  My friend Summer got her groomals done there, and it was just a fun spot to go.

A really cool place in SLC is the Memory Grove Park. Its full of tons of different cool architectural spots, along with a lot of tree and grass areas. The images I've seen from this place just look so great. Here is a link to a photo shoot done there. I love the style of this photographer, by the way.

The last place I wanna talk about is the International Peace Garden. This place has a lot to offer. I had never heard of it til I started searching out places. I think its a little treasure that people need to know about! Here are a few blogs that show it off well, click here and here and here.

When you're trying to find photography places, find something you love and something that has many different areas that will create lots of different backgrounds. There are a lot of places that are free to take shoots at, so if you want save money find those spots! It helps also to find photographers who have taken pictures in those places before, that way they know the good spots. If both you and the photographer are new to the place, go take a look at it before the shoot and write down areas and poses you want done!

Tip: Color Picking and Bridesmaid Dresses

Something a lot of people don't realize is how hard it is to find matching Bridesmaid Dresses...not just matching to each other but matching the color to your color palate.

My advice is to find the dresses first...then pick out a color palate. A good place to find dresses is at shabbyapple.com! If you want something cheaper go to a department store, or even make them. Ties, flowers and tables cloths are way easier to match after that!

Welcome!

I've decided to start a blog that will be full of my ideas, thoughts, critiques, tips and whatever I want to talk about with weddings! Some of my posts will be about actual weddings I have gone to and what I liked and didn't like about it. Other posts will be about wedding ideas, how to make things cheaper and what the wedding day should really be about. My motto would be, "The wedding day should only come once in a person's life...it should be enjoyable, fun and stress free!" I hope to enroll in a Wedding Planner program that I can actually get certified. I've had some experience with giving ideas, but I haven't actually planned a whole wedding by myself. If this blog isn't helpful for anyone, that is okay...because its mostly for me to store my ideas for future clients!

Well welcome, and I hope you enjoy!
